Today is the first day we can accept an absentee ballot request for the General Election on November 3, 2020. Although ballots will not be ready to mail out until later, we can get the process started.
The legislative council voted against allowing the Secretary of State's office to send out the request forms to all registered voters. Individual counties can still send out their own mailings, but this is not cost effective for smaller counties such as Benton County.
If you choose to vote absentee, please make sure you complete the form entirely. The phone number is used for our office purposes only if we need to contact you with missing information on the request forms. You can download the form at: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/absenteeballotapp.pdf or
call the office at 319-472-2365 and we can put one in the mail or email to you.
Return the form by:
Mailing your request to the Benton County Auditor, PO Box 549, Vinton, IA 52349 or dropping off in our drop box located at the west entrance of the courthouse.
